Tuesday, January 17, 2012  In what exemplifies a long and proud tradition of firefighter families, Matt Gallagher was sworn in as the newest career firefighter with the Norristown Fire Department. Matt, who started as a volunteer firefighter with the King of Prussia Fire Company and the Norristown Fire Department was sworn in by his father, The Honorable James Gallagher, who is also a Fire Chief with the King of Prussia Fire Company. Joining Matt at the ceremony, which was held during the Council Meeting at Municipal Hall, was his brother David, who is a career firefighter in Upper Darby and his Uncle John, who is also a career firefighter in Norristown.

Along with the many family members and fellow firefighters who were in attendance, The Norristown Fire Department welcomes Matt and wish him great success.
