Friday, April 27, 2012 Norristown Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a dwelling in the zero hundred block of East Basin Street this afternoon. The fire appeared to have started on the back stairs and extended into the kitchen. Fire also extended into an attached property. No one was home at the time of the fire, however, firefighters were able to safely remove a pet cat from the home.
