Busy Friday Night

Friday, September 16, 2011  It was a busy Friday Night for the police and fire departments in Norristown. Firefighters were called to the 00 hundred block of E. Oak Street for a buidling fire. An electrical cable attached to the home had shorted out. Firefighters could not control the fire until PECO arrived. While standing by at the Oak Street call, Norristown Firefighters were called to standby at the Norristown State Hospital while a medical helicopter landed for a shooting victim. Following that call, Norristown, Jeffersonville, and Swedesburg Firefighters were called to the river for a wanted subject, who was running from the police, who jumped into the river and disappeared. Marine crews searched the river but could not find the victim.
