Erik DeLapp
Erik is a firefighter with the Montgomery. He was the first person to
join the department after contacting us from the website; and is now
State Certified. He was born in Fairfield, Ca. He likes Pizza and the
movie Super Troopers. His first major fire was the Town & Country fire.
At 1330 hours, Norristown Fire Department responded to 1415 Astor St. for a reported lamp fire, upon arrival firefighter had fire showing from the 1st floor front room. Firefighters made a quick knock down holding the fire to the living room; however firefighters were not able to save the family dog which was found on the second floor.
WATER RESCUE WITH FLY OUT

At 1:05 hours, the Norristown Fire Department was dispatched to the Dannehower Bridge for a water rescue. Crews found a 24 yr old male in the water conscious and yelling for help. The victim had fallen almost 100 ft. Crews on the bridge lowered a personal floatation device and rope while additional crews launched boats from the Haws Avenue boat ramp. The victim was pulled from the water and flown to a trauma unit in Philadelphia.
