Erik DeLapp
Erik is a firefighter with the Montgomery. He was the first person to join the department after contacting us from the website; and is now State Certified. He was born in Fairfield, Ca. He likes Pizza and the movie Super Troopers. His first major fire was the Town & Country fire.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH ENTRAPMENT
Date: 12/26/06 The Norristown Fire Department was dispatched at 6:30pm to the 1700 Blk of Markley St. for a 3 vehicle accident with rescue. Firefighters encounted one subject trapped in Ford Escort and a second vehicle on fire. Firefighters freed the trapped subject, who was then flown to a Philadelphia Trauma Unit for treatment. The fire in the second vehicle was extinguished. The fire department was having a busy night; for just prior to the rescue, the department was dispatched to assist police at a shooting.
NORRISTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT CHIEF SAM CAROLUZZI SWORN IN AS UPPER DARBY'S NEWEST CAREER FIREFIGHTER
Date: 12/22/06 Norristown Fire Department Assistant Chief Sam Caroluzzi was sworn in as the newest Career Firefighter for the Upper Darby Fire Department. Sam has been a member of Fairmount since 1992 and has served as Assistant Chief for Norristown since 2002. Sam will be a great asset for Upper Darby and will be surely missed by Norristown. We congratulate Sam and wish him good luck.
NORRISTOWN FD CONTINUES TO SPREAD GOODWILL
Date: 12/22/06

The NFD assisted Santa Clause in spreading holiday goodwill throughout Norristown. At 10:00 am, the fire department delivered Santa to the Montgomery County Library, where PA Senator Connie Williams presented a check to the CNOC church to repair structural damage to their building.

At 1:00 pm, it was off to Pine Street, where with Santa's help, the fire department presented a $425 check to a Norristown family who lost all their Christmas gifts to a thief. The family is struggling to make ends meet while husband and father serve in Iraq. The funds were provided by Montgomery Domestic Relations. In addition, Shop Rite donated several hundred dollars of groceries.

SANTA CLAUS COMES TO TOWN
Date: 12/16/06 The Norristown Fire Department participated in their annual Santa Claus run around town. Santa arrived early and brought smiles and candy canes to the children of Norristown.
GEORGE STREET DWELLING FIRE
Date: 12/14/06 At 8pm, the Norristown Fire Department responded to a reported dwelling fire at 507 George St. Ladder 27 arrived on location and reported smoke showing. Firefighters made a quick knock down of a kitchen fire.
WATER RESCUE BENEATH THE DANENHOWER BRIDGE
Date: 12/1/06 At 5:30pm, the Norristown Fire Department along with the Norristown Marine Unit and Dive Unit were dispatched for a water rescue beneath the Danenhower Bridge. Police had been on the bridge attempting to talk down a distraught subject, when the subject went over the bridge and into the water 100ft below. Fire departments from Swedesburg, Jeffersonville and West Conshohocken along with Norristown searched the river for about 1 hour before recovering the victim.
