NORRISTOWN TRAIN ACCIDENT
Date: 3/26/07 At 8:00am, The Norristown Fire Department and nine EMS units responded to a train accident at the Norristown Transportation Center. Two cars on the Route 100 Line Trolley had struck the bumper at the end of the line causing multiple injuries. Eight victims were evaluated by firefighters and paramedics and transported to Montgomery and Suburban General Hospitals with class 3 injuries.
IN MEMORIAM
Date: 3/14/07 It is with deep regret that the Norristown Fire Department announces the death of our Chaplain, Father Kevin C. Trautner. Father Trautner was the pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Norristown, and annually celebrated the fire department memorial service. Father Trautner was a true advocate of firefighters, especially after he experienced a fire in the Rectory and firefighters rescued his cat. Father Trautner, and his dedication to the fire service and the community, will surely be missed.
