Erik DeLapp
Erik is a firefighter with the Montgomery. He was the first person to join the department after contacting us from the website; and is now State Certified. He was born in Fairfield, Ca. He likes Pizza and the movie Super Troopers. His first major fire was the Town & Country fire.

FITNESS PROGRAM A SUCCESS
Date: 7/31/07 It was eight weeks ago that Norristown Firefighters were challenged to lose weight, lower their cholesterol and their blood pressure and walk 10,000 steps a day. With Cherie Banks and NBC 10 in attendance, the results were gathered. Chief O'Donnell lost 7 pounds and raised his good cholesterol. 78 percent of the other firefighters lost weight, 44 percent lowered their total cholesterol and 55 percent raised their good cholesterol. Overall, it appeared the program was a success.
FIRE SHOWING FROM ASTOR STREET HOUSE
Date: 7/29/07 At 6:10pm The Norristown Fire Department responded to the rear of 658 Astor Street after police found flames coming from a two story garage. The fire gutted the entire second floor. No one was injured in the fire. Firefighters from Swedeland and East Norriton assisted at the scene.
3 HOUSE FIRES IN 24 HOURS
Date: 7/24 - 7/25 Norristown Fire Fighters stayed busy fighting three house fires in a 24 hour period. The first fire came in at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 24. Fire Fighters found two separate fires in an apartment house at 618 Swede St.. Both fires were quickly extinguished. The second fire occurred at 1:30am on Thursday, July 25. Fire Fighters found a fire in a vacant house at 1036 W. Airy St. That fire was also extinguished quickly, however crews were on scene for a couple of hours completing overhaul and investigating the cause. The third fire occurred at 7:00am at 1223 W. Airy St., at the home of a Norristown Fire Fighter. The Norristown Fire Fighter, who serves as a department safety officer, reported fire coming out of a bedroom closet. All occupants escaped the fires safely, however, a family pet of the Norristown Fire Fighter did perish in the blaze.

CONGRATULATIONS
Date: 7/24/07 Norristown volunteer firefighters, Frank Ludwig and Joseph Perkins, get sworn in as East Norriton's first career firefighters. In Norristown, Frank is the Captain at the Fairmount, and Joe is the Chief Engineer at the Hancock. Frank and Joe will handle firefighting and fire marshal duties in East Norriton Township. We congratulate them and wish them good luck.
EARLY MORNING APARTMENT FIRE
Date: 7/12/07 A early morning fire gutted two apartments at 627 Cherry St. The fire which started in a first floor bedroom extended up through the walls into a second floor bedroom. All occupants were safely evacuated. Assisting Norristown at the fire scene were crews from the neighboring communities of East Norriton, Plymouth, Swedeland and Bridgeport.
EARLY MORNING RESCUE
Date: 7/5/07 At 4am Norristown Fire Department was dispatched for a vehicle rescue in the 300 Blk of West Marshall St. Initial reports stated five people trapped, however, upon arrival firefighters only found one subject trapped and uninjured. The vehicle was stabilized and the victim was extricated by removing the windshield.
